Sweet lavender pillow, little spelling oops!

I had this all ready to put in my Etsy shop when I noticed that I had made a little spelling mistake. And I was so darned proud of myself too. Oh well, I know what they say about pride and falling.

For my Etsy Shop...

I have finally opened a little Etsy shop. So far I've only listed three things, but that will change as time goes by. Since I've named my shop "iamanartist boutique", there will be a variety of different art and craft items listed, since that is how I define 'boutique.'
Take a look....This is one of the things I have listed for sale.

Quilting is next. Then the binding. And finally, the label. Should be (I plan on being) finished by Sunday and Monday off in the mail to someone for a swap. Hope she'll like it.

Watercolor....a work in progress

Further progress. I don't usually take a piece in steps like this. As a general rule, I draw, ink and then paint. But for some reason this picture wants me to take it slow. So... I am.

Just finished this today. I think I like it. It's watercolors, pen and ink with a little colored pencil on tea stained water color paper. I don't know why I draw and paint....I mean, it's not like anyone ever sees my art outside my home. I guess it's something that I need to do. Sometimes I think about submitting to a publisher...........

A multi media piece on watercolor paper. What started out to be a simple pen and ink with a watercolor wash morphed into this; with the addition of inktense pencils and prisma colored pencils. I'm not sure if I am finished or if I need to tweak it some more. Maybe I'll just start over. Mmmmm......

Newest doll quilt sans binding.

Doll quilt for a swap that I'm in. It's supposed to be a disappearing nine patch. I used 30's and 40's reproductions and channel quilted it.
I think that I'll use either a red or pink for the binding. Sure hope that my swap partner will like it.

p.s. I know that the picture quality isn't the best so later I'll take another shot and hopefully it'll be better.

p.s.s. The first p.s. is for you Kel.

Saturday Evening....

Haven't posted anything for a while. Had been feeling under the weather; had a couple of mini strokes, but no lasting damage and I am feeling better. Just had a week off, April Vacation you know. As much as I love my job working with special needs children, I always enjoy my time off.
I am working on a quilt for a swap I'm in. I'm trying to decide how I want to quilt it. I'm leaning toward old fashioned utility stitches. I really like how that looks and it probably wouldn't take too long since I'm only working on a doll size quilt. I do have some pictures in my camera that I need to download tomorrow, hopefully. Plus, I'll take some of the current quilt I'm working on.

I really hope that my partner likes it. I realize that lime green or whatever you chose to name this color isn't everyone's cup of tea; but I love it and couldn't resist using it. If she hates it I'll offer to make her another one.

Black, red and white doll quilt

A picture of the little doll quilt just before I quilted it with red thread. I quite like how it has turned out. Now, I''m getting ready to put the binding on; which is my favorite part of making these little quilts.
This little quilt is for a swap that I'm involved in. I hope that my swap partner likes it.

Here is my S.T.U.D. doll quilt all finished and ready to be mailed on Tuesday when the Post Office is open again. Sure hope my swap partner will be happy with it. I like it very much and would like to keep it; which is how I decide if a something is good enough to be given to someone. I have to admit that the binding gave me quite a lot of problems and I'm not exactly sure why. I put the binding on the same way that I have on every other quilt that I've made; but this one was harder than it should have been. Mmmmm.....

About Me

My photo
I'm a wife and a mom to two grown sons. I am owned by 3 cats and 1 dog. I love chocolate but lately I've been cutting back on my chocolate love...and I've been drinking tea and exercising. Yeah, I miss chocolate but my jeans fit me better.
